Villages of Dorchester relies heavily on the participation and feedback from residents, and the activities of our committees are an integral part of our success. Committees consist of residents – both homeowners and renters alike – who want to help make this community great. Volunteers are welcomed to join any committee at anytime. Committees meet once each month, usually at the community center or a local restaurant or cafe. Serving on a committee is as much of a commitment as you wish to make it. If you would like to volunteer your time and talent – or if you have a suggestion for ways we can improve, please email the committee chair using the contact email address links below.
The purpose of the Architectural Review Committee is to enhance and preserve property values for Villages of Dorchester homeowners. The ARC approves or denies requests to change the external appearance of properties within the Villages of Dorchester using the guidelines set forth in the VOD’s covenants. The committee is also responsible for overseeing the general state of repair and providing notices to residents when their property is falling short of the architectural standards.

The Communications Committee is tasked with creating and improving methods of communication within the Villages of Dorchester community. The committee is responsible for updating and improving the community’s website, Facebook page, and Twitter accounts, creating and updating welcome kits for new residents who move into VOD, and working to foster a community of open and positive interaction both online, and in print.
The mission of the Facilities Committee is to manage the maintenance and operation of the common areas, the pool and the community center to ensure they are kept well-maintained and that future projects are developed and implemented in a manner that best utilizes the HOA’s funds.
While not an officially chartered “committee”, the Programs & Events team works to gather input from residents regarding programs, classes, activity groups, seminars, workshops, etc. that would be of interest to VOD residents. The Programs & Events team also secures qualified professional instructors for classes, manages the website to signup participants and collect registration fees, and works closely with the community manager to create a schedule of events in the community clubhouse.
